EZEKIEL 9 EXPOSION:THIS IS AN ESCHATOLOGICAL PROCHECY

E-mail PDF

`The are many precious truths contained in the Word of God but it is present truth that the flock  of God needs now” EW63.1

`The was a present truth in the days of Luther . The  truth  of  special  significance  for that time. There is present truth for the Church today” GC143.3

God has called His church in this day, as He called ancient Israel, to stand as a light in the earth. By the mighty cleaver of truth, the messages of the first, second, and third angels, He has separated them from the churches and from the world to bring them into a sacred nearness to Himself. He has made them the depositaries of His law and has committed to them the great truths of prophecy for this time. Like the holy oracles committed to ancient Israel, these are a sacred trust to be communicated to the world”5T455

For every generation God has a truth applicable to that particular time. The purpose of present truth is to awaken the children of God to be active in present duty. I will like for these above statements to remind the reader that God has a special message that He has given to modern Israel to proclaim it to the world.

As all know that the premise of every presentation is to draw all eyes to the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. This article should not be seen as another work of erudite exegesis or even as heterodox. The purpose of this article is not to be an epistemological exercise which is a consequence of  philobiblic demanour but it is to be viewed  as what is needed for the Church at the present moment.

The ninth chapter of Ezekiel is present truth. It is what the Lord in His infinite wisdom has purposed use  to awaken His children to present duty which will place them in the position where the sealing angel won`t pass them by.

The sealing message is said to be present truth.cf EW114. We will shortly look at how the children of God are to be seal? And  the  purpose of  the seal. The book of Ezekiel provides answers  to  this  pivotal questions. And we are advised to read this book in connection with revelation 7.cf TM444-5

Before going through chapter nine it would be beneficial to first consider the preceding chapters. These will provide great insight and will serve as tools for a better understanding of chapter nine. We will quickly look at chapter seven and eight. But they won`t be considered in great detail. We will start from the first verse of chapter seven:

Watchmen Of Zion

The Lord has called us out of the world to proclaim the Three Angels Message to the world
Time is no more, an urgent call must be pronounced to the world.
"We are now living in the closing scenes of this world's history.
Let men tremble with the sense of the responsibility of knowing the truth.
The ends of the world are come. Proper consideration of these things will lead all
to make an entire consecration of all that they have and are to their God. . . ." {Ev 16.2}

As a people we greatly need to humble our hearts before God, pleading His forgiveness for our neglect
to fulfill the gospel commission. We have made large centers in a few places, leaving unworked many
important cities. Let us now take up the work appointed us, and proclaim the message that is to arouse
men and women to a sense of their danger. If every Seventh-day Adventist had done the work laid upon him,
the number of believers would now be much larger than it is.--Testimonies, vol. 9, p. 25.  (1909)
The words of Jesus Christ are spoken to us living down here in the close of this earth's history.
"When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."
The nations are in unrest. Times of perplexity are upon us. The waves of the sea are roaring; men's hearts are failing
them for fear and for expectation of those things that are coming upon the earth; but those who believe on the Son of
God will hear His voice amid the storm, saying, "It is I; be not afraid." . . . We see the world lying in wickedness
and apostasy. Rebellion to the commandments of God seems almost universal. Amid the tumult of excitement with confusion
in every place,
there is a work to be done in the world.--Manuscript 44, 1900
Satan's armies are many, and God's people must spread over all the world, planting the standard of truth in the dark places of the earth and doing their utmost
to destroy Satan's kingdom.--Letter 91, 1900

Why GOD DID NOT DESTROY THE DEVIL?

E-mail

People often blame God for not immediately destroying Satan, when he first brought sin into the universe. This chapter will provide you with a solid answer to this question.

The government of God is founded on His divine law. Only by obedience to it, can His creatures be happy.

The law of love being the foundation of the government of God, the happiness of all created beings depended upon their perfect accord with its great principles of righteousness. God desires from all His creatures the service of love—homage that springs from an intelligent appreciation of His character. He takes no pleasure in a forced allegiance, and to all He grants freedom of will, that they may render Him voluntary service.

The Bible says that "sin is the transgression of the law" (1 John 3:4). That is the only clear definition of sin In the Bible. God did not cause sin to exist.

It is impossible to explain the origin of sin so as to give a reason for its existence. Yet enough may be understood concerning both the origin and the final disposition of sin to make fully manifest the justice and benevolence of God in all His dealings with evil. Nothing is more plainly taught in Scripture than that God was in no wise responsible for the entrance of sin; that there was no arbitrary withdrawal of divine grace, no deficiency in the Divine government, that gave occasion for the uprising of rebellion. Sin is an intruder, for whose presence no reason can be given. It is mysterious, unaccountable; to excuse it is to defend it. Could excuse for it be found, or cause be shown for its existence. It would cease to be sin. Our only definition of sin is that given in the Word of God; it is "the transgression of the law"; it is the outworking of a principle at war with the great law of love, which is the foundation of the divine government.

Mystries of The Bible

No finite mind can fully comprehend the character or the works of the Infinite One. We cannot by searching find out God. To minds the strongest and most highly cultured, as well as to the weakest and most ignorant, that holy Being must remain clothed in mystery. But though "clouds and darkness are round about Him: righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne." Psalm 97:2, R.V. We can so far comprehend His dealing with us as to discern boundless mercy united to infinite power. We can understand as much of His purposes as we are capable of comprehending; beyond this we may still trust the hand that is omnipotent, the heart that is full of love.

The word of God, like the character of its Author, presents mysteries that can never be fully comprehended by finite beings. But God has given in the Scriptures sufficient evidence of their divine authority. His own existence, His character, the truthfulness of His word, are established by testimony that appeals to our reason; and this testimony is abundant. True, He has not removed the possibility of doubt; faith must rest upon evidence, not demonstration; those who wish to doubt have opportunity; but those who desire to know the truth find ample ground for faith.

We have no reason to doubt God's word because we cannot understand the mysteries of His providence. In the natural world we are constantly surrounded with wonders beyond our comprehension. Should we then be surprised to find in the spiritual world also mysteries that we cannot fathom? The difficulty lies solely in the weakness and narrowness of the human mind.

The mysteries of the Bible, so far from being an argument against it, are among the strongest evidences of its divine inspiration. If it contained no account of God but that which we could comprehend; if His greatness and majesty could be grasped by finite minds, then the Bible would not, as now, bear the unmistakable evidences of divinity. The greatness of its themes should inspire faith in it as the word of God.

The Bible unfolds truth with a simplicity and an adaptation to the needs and longings of the human heart that has astonished and charmed the most highly cultivated minds, while to the humble and uncultured also it makes plain the way of life. "The wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein," Isaiah 35:8. No child need mistake the path. Not one trembling seeker need fail of walking in pure and holy light. Yet the most simply stated truths lay hold upon themes elevated, far-reaching, infinitely beyond the power of human comprehension,--mysteries that are the hiding of His glory, mysteries that overpower the mind in its research,--while they inspire the sincere seeker for truth with reverence and faith. The more we search the Bible, the deeper is our conviction that it is the word of the living God, and human reason bows before the majesty of divine revelation.
